Overview:
Med Helper is designed to require minimal input. For simple situations it can be configured in a couple of minutes. Use it to track prescriptions, refills, medications, doctors, pharmacies and relevant personal info such as allergies. Notifications alert you when it’s time to take medication allowing you to record the specific dosage, or skip the dosage entirely. Can also be used to track dosages for take as needed medication to help stay within the recommended hourly limits.

Quick Start:
To add a single prescription that will notify you daily at 10:00 am and 5:00 pm.
  • From the dashboard select prescriptions.
  • Click add in the top right.
  • Enter a name to identify the prescription. Press done.
  • Press the schedule button.
  • Click + next to add reminder.
  • Change the dosage to 2.
  • Add another reminder.
  • Click on the time button.
  • Set the time to 5:00 pm.
  • Set the dosage to 3.
  • Press save.

Notifications:
When receiving a notification go to the Schedule screen if not taken there automatically, to record your actions.

Dashboard:
Links to the different sections of the app.

Schedule:
Shows a list of color coded doses for the current day grouped by scheduled time. Take as needed doses are colored light blue. The times in small font is the time the action was recorded.
  • Orange: Overdue doses that haven’t been marked as taken or skipped.
  • Yellow: Times with both taken and overdue meds.
  • Green: For doses that have been marked as taken or skipped.
  • Grey: Doses in the future yet to be taken. Allowing you to take meds before the reminder goes off.
The plus and minus buttons allow changing days, the calendar button allows going to a specific day. The active day is displayed at the top.
Select a time or dosage row to record changes.

Edit Schedule:
Check off taken doses and click save. Can adjust taken time and dosage.
  • Take Now: Marks reminders as taken at the current time.
  • Take Scheduled: Marks reminders as taken at the scheduled time.
  • Skip: Marks reminders as taken but sets dosage to zero.
  • Undo: Reset any current changes.

Take As Needed:
Select a prescription. Enter a dosage amount then click the Take button. A running log will be displayed for the last 20 doses for tracking totals. Any row can be edited or deleted by clicking it.

Prescriptions:
A list of prescriptions, expired prescriptions are colored grey and pushed to the bottom. Prescriptions are where you set up reminder schedules, track inventory and remaining refills.

Edit Prescriptions:
  • Name: Meaningful, pronouncable name for a prescription.
  • Number: The prescription code for ordering refills.
  • Medication: The prescribed Medication.
  • Instructions: Any special instructions from the pharmacist. (Displayed on take as needed page)
  • Reason: Reason for taking medication.
  • Description: Physical appearance.
  • Start Date: Date prescription starts. Reminders are not generated before this date.
  • End Date: Reminders are not generated after this date. Prescriptions show up as grey and are moved to bottom of list after this date.
  • Schedule Type: (Regular generates reminders at configured times) (Take as needed disables reminder feature)
  • Schedule Pattern: Select type of repeating pattern. (Days, Months or by Day of week)
  • Interval: Number of days/months between reminders for day or month reminders.
  • Reminder Times: Reminder time and prescribed dose. Alarm check box allows disabling notifications for specific doses. Weekday is the day of the reminder.
  • Refills Remaining: Number of refills remaining on prescription.
  • Refill Quantity: Quantity expected in subsequent refills.
  • Medication Unit: How doses are measured. (pills, mgs etc)
  • Track Inventory: Enable/Disable Inventory tracking.
  • Inventory Set Date: Date and time of last Inventory audit.
  • INVENTORY: Inventory at inventory set date. (this amount only changes when refills are added)
  • Low Inventory: Displays current inventory yellow when calculated inventory is at or below this quantity.
  • Prescribing Physician: Links to doctor.
  • Pharmacy: Links to pharmacy.

View Prescriptions:
  • Name: Meaningful, pronounceable name for a prescription.

  • Refills Remaining: Number of refills remaining on prescription.
  • Inventory: Current inventory
  • Refill button: Launches refill screen.
    • Refill prescription: set refills remaining and quantity of refill then press save.
  • Prescribing Physician: Links to doctor.
  • Pharmacy: Links to pharmacy.

Doctors:
Create a list of doctors. You can then set a prescription’s prescribing physician, to one of the doctors from this list.

Pharmacies:
Create a list of pharmacies. You can then set a prescription’s pharmacy, to one of the pharmacies from this list.

Profile(s):
Record any extra info you would like to have handy when talking to your doctor or pharmacist. When multiple profiles are enabled in settings, this section can be used to create and delete additional profiles.

Note:
Record notes. Intended use is to track any reactions or concerns during treatment.

Appointments:
Record appointments and link them to a Doctor or Pharmacy. Use the early minutes field to have the notification go off early.

Reports:
Enter an email address, Select the date range (also profile if multiple profiles enabled). Check off the desired reports and press send. Email application will open with reports attached, add any notes then send. Data is exported as seperate html reports best viewed in a web browser. The spreadsheet is exported in Excel 2000 format.

Settings:
  • Multiple Profiles: Can create multiple profiles allowing for separate scheduling and reporting.
