How do I transfer data from my old phone to my new phone?
On the old device:
  1. From within MedHelper select menu->preferences->backup/restore->backup (This will insure that all the files within MedHelper are current before being transferred)
  2. Connect the old device to a computer. Locate the apps/medhelper/backup.db file and copy it to the computer. (If you need help with this see FAQ – How do I maintain a backup copy on my computer in case of loss or damage to my phone or tablet?)
  3. Disconnect the device from the computer.
On the new device:
  1. Download and install MedHelper.
  2. From within MedHelper select Menu->preferences->backup/restore->backup (Creates the folders to put the backup.db file in)
  3. Connect the new device to a computer. Replace the backup.db file on the device with the version on the computer. It should be located at: apps/medhelper/backup.db
  4. Disconnect the device from the computer.
  5. From within MedHelper. Select menu->preferences->backup/restore->restore.

Your new phone will now have all the MedHelper information/data that was on your old phone.

How do I transfer my data when upgrading from MedHelper to MedHelper Pro?

MedHelper and MedHelper Pro are two separate apps, follow the steps below to transfer the data.
Make sure you're in the right version when doing the backup and restore as that would be the only way to lose your data. (You can copy the backup.db file off the phone as an extra precaution after step 6.   1. Launch MedHelper.
  2. Hit menu.
  3. Hit preferences.
  4. Scroll down and select backup/restore.
  5. Hit backup.
  6. Exit MedHelper.
  7. Launch MedHelper Pro.
  8. Hit menu.
  9. Hit preferences.
  10. Scroll down and select backup/restore.
  11. Hit restore.
  12. Check the data was restored.
  13. Exit MedHelper Pro.
  14. Uninstall MedHelper.
My alarms don't seem to be working - what should I do?
Check the following settings.
Alarm is turned off – turn alarm back on.
  1. Launch MedHelper.
  2. Go to the sub menu.
  3. Hit preferences.
  4. Choose Notification Sound (make a selection of the sound you like)
  5. Make sure Chime is clicked on.
  6. You can also click on Vibrate.
  7. Note: If you tend not to respond right away click - Repeat Chime.
  8. Make sure your Volume is turned up enough to hear the alarm.
  9. Click test notification to simulate a reminder.
Start date is set to a future date.
During the set up when you added a Prescription in the Sched tab. Make sure the following is correct: Start Date is not set for a future date.
  1. From the main menu hit Profile.
  2. Hit Prescriptions.
  3. Hit the Prescription that the alarm is not responding to.
  4. Hit edit.
  5. Hit Sched.
  6. Verify Start Date – make sure the start date is a past or current date – if the date is set to a future date the alarm will not sound until that date.
Reminder time is not set.
During the set up when adding a Prescription in the Sched tab Make sure the following is correct: Reminder Time is set to desired time of alarm – The proper Dosage is set – Alarm notification is clicked on – hit Save
  1. From the main menu hit Profile.
  2. Hit Prescriptions.
  3. Hit the Prescription that the alarm is not responding to.
  4. Hit edit.
  5. Hit Sched.
  6. under - Add reminder times > hit the + sign to add a time
  7. Set time.
  8. Set dosage.
  9. Click alarm on.
  10. Save.
Profile is Suspended.
  1. From the Main Menu hit profile.
  2. Chose the profile you're using.
  3. Hit edit.
  4. Hit settings - make sure the Suspended box is not checked. (Uncheck if you wish alarms to function with this profile.)
How do I maintain a backup copy on my computer in case of loss or damage to my phone or tablet?
On the Phone / Tablet
  1. Do a backup on the phone / tablet first.
  2. From the main menu hit > Preferences > Backup and Restore > Backup (Data on the phone is now up to date and ready to be saved to your computer).
On the Computer
  1. Create a folder to store the DB (data base) file in.
  2. Connect your phone to your computer.
  3. Open your devices storage folder.
  4. Navigate to apps/medhelper
  5. Copy backup.db to your computer
To restore your data
  1. Copy the backup.db file back onto your device in the app/medhelper folder. If this is a new install of medhelper you can do a backup in medhelper first to create the apps/medhelper folders. Then look for backup.db and replace it with the copy from your backup.
  2. Disconnect the device from the computer.
  3. From within medhelper hit menu > preferences > backup/restore > restore
  4. Check that your data was restored
